Temple of the Gilded Cage
Slaasha is the goddess of excess, desire, and indulgence — patron of those who believe that life should be experienced to its fullest, regardless of consequence. Her worship thrives in port cities where sailors seek release from the terrors of the sea, and her temples — the Gilded Cages — offer pleasures both mundane and otherworldly. Her faith treads a dangerous line between liberation and destruction.

Worship of Slaasha centers on sensory experience: feasting, drinking, music, dance, and more intimate pleasures. Her temples are lavish affairs of silk, gold, and incense. Offerings include fine wines, perfumes, works of art, and acts of creative expression. The faithful believe that to deny desire is to deny life itself.
The Temple of the Gilded Cage maintains Slaasha's priesthood. Her priests and priestesses are skilled in arts of persuasion, performance, and — critics would say — manipulation. They serve as counselors, entertainers, and intermediaries. The temple's political influence in port cities is considerable, as many powerful figures are among its patrons.
A three-night festival where social hierarchies are temporarily dissolved. Participants wear elaborate masks and adopt new identities, engaging in celebration without the constraints of their daily roles.
Slaasha's faith occupies a morally complex space in Asphodel's religious landscape. To her followers, she represents freedom from the crushing weight of a world besieged by plague, deep horrors, and political corruption. To her critics — particularly the clergy of Solara — she represents the abandonment of responsibility and the embrace of hedonistic self-destruction.
The truth, as always in Asphodel, is complicated. The Gilded Cages provide genuine comfort and community to the desperate and downtrodden. They also serve as hubs for espionage, blackmail, and the subtle corruption of civic institutions. Slaasha herself seems unconcerned with the distinction.
